Mpox: What is it, where does it come from, and how dangerous is it?

Listen Later

You've probably been hearing a lot about Mpox in the news lately. But what is it exactly, where does it come from, how is it transmitted, and how dangerous is it? This week, Ben talks with University of Iowa infectious diseases experts Michael Pentella and Christine Petersen and gets the scoop on Mpox.
**Note: this episode was recorded prior to the World Health Organization’s recommendation to use the term “mpox” and phase out the term “monkeypox." The episode uses the latter term, but we recommend “mpox” for future use.**
