Mr. Cruel suunnitteli tekonsa huolellisesti ja onnistui hämäämään poliiseja niin, että vielä tänäkään päivänä poliiseilla ei ole tietoa siitä, kuka Mr. Cruelin naamion takana on. Vaikka poliisit epäilevät, että tekijä on lopettanut fyysisesti, heillä on vahva epäilys siitä että Mr. Cruel saattaa olla siirtynyt tekemään rikoksia internettiin.
