In this episode, recorded in less than 20 minutes, Chris talks about a nostalgic favorite of his from the early 80s, Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983). Besides being a Bradbury fan, Chris had an English teacher (Coach Vinson!) who nurtured the love for Bradbury by showing the movie in class over two days. Kids of the 80s and 90s remember how movie day in class was like getting a surprise vacation.
With performances from Jonathan Pryce, Jason Robards, Diane Ladd, and one of Chris' favorites, Pam Grier (Jackie Brown), SWTWC isn't a great movie, but it's a great look at Disney Studios in transition between family movies and movies with more fantasy and horror elements in them. Check it out if you've never seen it, or watch again if it's been a while.
And as always, thanks for listening!
