Treating old and new fans to a fantastic and inventive cover of Blondie’s “Call Me” is none other than MR.Slade himself. Luckily for us, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with the artist for an in-depth interview surrounding the release. Departing from his originals for just a moment, MR.Slade put together a seriously compelling version of Blondie’s “Call Me” that actually breathed a new life into a classic. Taking elements of 70’s glam rock, 80’s hair metal, and a little disco thrown in there for good measure, this is our preferred style of cover that doesn’t completely mirror the original. Even better, getting to hear about it from this musician that we’ve been covering for a while was the cherry on top.
