I’m very pleased to talk to Thomas J. West on the podcast today. Tom is the blended learning coordinator, instrumental music teacher and a teacher of jazz studies at Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School's Center for Performing and Fine Arts and he has been teaching music online since 2008 (yes, well before COVID-19 hit).
Tom has refined his approach to teaching music ensembles in the online format over the past months and has come up with a program that has been specifically adapted to an online or blended learning situation. There are LOTS of practical tips in this episode so I hope you’ll enjoy listening to our discussion of Tom’s program.
**Note: I apologise for the audio quality in this interview. One of those times where I forgot to check which mic I had selected in Zoom (!).
