Kenneth Giles, a 58-year-old gunman wanted for shooting his partner Tanya Moran in the hand on January 7, has been on the run for seven weeks from the Midwest town of Mullawa. His abandoned Nissan Patrol was discovered 40 kilometres northeast of his home near Hackett Creek, containing alcohol and medication but no firearms or survival supplies. Police continue their search despite heavy rain from Cyclone Mitchell washing away potential tracks, and have not ruled out the possibility that someone may be assisting him.
