Madibeng Municipality has been in the news for many years mostly for poor service delivery, bad quality of water and bad roads being the major ones. Villages are also very hard hit by water shortages. This is the same municipality that returned more than 100-million rands of much needed funds back to treasury which the mayor apologised for.
