We turn our focus on the Rand West Local Municipality which governs Randfontein, Westonaria, Mohlakeng, Bekkersdal, Venterspos and Finsbury. They have been battling water, electricity and Zama Zama issues in the mining area that falls under them. Floods are a big challenge as they've destroyed infrastructure leading to sewage spillage in some of the surrounding townships. There was also an incident earlier this year where a two-year-old child died in a manhole incident.
