Robert Maudsley, a British serial killer, is the focus of this episode. Maudsley experienced severe abuse as a child and turned to sex work and drugs to cope. He claimed to hear voices telling him to kill his parents and later killed a man who had abused children. Maudsley was found unfit to stand trial and was sentenced to a psychiatric hospital. While in prison, he tortured and killed a child molester and two other inmates. Maudsley is currently the longest-serving British prisoner in solitary confinement.
