Markus is high in demand as a choir conductor, and has worked with operas such as those in Frankfurt and Meiningen. He has also been the choir director in the City Opera of Istanbul and in Darmstadt. Markus is currently employed as the choir director and conductor of the opera in Wuppertal. In his free time he runs the project 'Musiker Ohne Grenzen' (music without borders) and AK Ghana.
