In this homily The Rev. Dr. James E. Taylor, Rector of St. George Episcopal Church, discusses today's Gospel lesson where Martha asks Jesus to chastise Mary for not helping her with the preparations for their guests. Mary instead sits at the feet of Jesus listening to his every word. Fr. Taylor stresses the importance of listening to what Jesus has to say, even to us today, and encourages us to take time from our busy lives to commit to do something spiritually uplifting.
