Now we jump into the MUST DO’S while on OAHU…First up is: KAYAKING: One of the first places people think of is Kayaking to the Mokes in Lanikai, to Chinaman’s Hat or even the Kaneohe Sandbar…each one is more extreme…There are many Kayak rental spots on Oahu, too many to count….The most famous located in Kailua near the Mokes of Lanikai: KAILUA SAILBOARDS & KAYAKS INC.

SWIM WITH DOLPHINS: on the WEST SIDE…DO NOT visit or give your money to locations that house Captive Dolphins who are brought in from outside Hawaii. The parks who house Dolphins house Atlantic Bottle nose Dolphins, like Sea Life Park and Dolphin Quest at the Kahala Resort…NOT HAWAIIAN Spinner Dolphins. So you have DOLPHIN EXCURSIONS and EO WAIANAE TOURS. Also you can see them freely out at Electric Beach and POIKAI Bay, West Side.

CAGE DIVE WIH SHARKS: There is one Shark Cage dive we recommend only: NORTH SHORE SHARK ADVENTURES. Remember, take the meds and chew on Ginger root…It could be a bumpy ride out there till you get in the water!

 

 

 

GO SKYDIVING: with “SKYDIVE HAWAII” on the far North Shore. GO HORSEBACK RIDING: at Kualoa Ranch on the 2 hour Kaaawa Valley Tour.

TAKE A SURF or PADDLE BOARD LESSON: in WAIKIKI or find a private surf Tour that will take you out to Kuilei cliffs at diamond head or to Haleiwa Town on the North Shore. You can hit up John at YOLO SURF which is a very private locally run business who doesn’t advertise much, but I am pushing them to do so and Bruce will be offering their surf and paddle board lessons soon on the North Shore. GO DEEP SEA FISHING: (if you have a little money to spend) or KAYAK FISHING: (if you want to do it old Hawaiian style, in a more raw and much cheaper way)…There are many Boat and Kayaking tours that do fishing tours on Oahu.You can head up NORTH SHORE FISHING ADVENTURES which has a NO CATCH NO CHARGE Policy or go on a top notch fishing Charter with Capt. MICK at KANALOA SPORT FISHING where he’ll bring your catch back to his beach house on Pipeline and cook the catch for you with some beers. If interested in Kayak fishing you can do it with Isaac of AQUAHUNTERS ON the WEST SIDE or with David of Coastal Kayak Tours on the EAST SIDE.
