In this weeks episode Averyn found a story she was dying to tell and told Vonia she should pair it with Must Love Dogs. So Vonia watched it and welp, she no likey. This movie suggests that a divorced woman in her early forties is passed her expiration date and will never have a happy life if she doesn’t find a man and we are calling BS on that whole line of thinking 🤮. In a lucky twist of fate Vonia watched the new Hulu movie Prey that centers on the story of a Comanche warrior and her fur baby and she freaking loved it! So you get a bit of a double feature this week Rom Criminals!
Then Averyn tells the story of two minorly competent criminals who scammed the US government out of more than 18 million dollars in Covid Relief funds but got caught bc they were too lazy to come up with different employee names for the over 151 applications they sent in. After being arrested and charged with fraud, identity theft and money laundering, the couple cut off their ankle bracelets scooped up the family dog and fled the country leaving their three children behind. A six month long manhunt finally came to an end when the couple was found living in a water front villa in Montenegro.
