This week, Ryan Drury and Steve Sabourin are joined by IIHF writer Derek O'Brien live from Slovakia!
Derek is covering the 2019 IIHF Men's World Hockey Championships, and gives some details on some major story lines there, what the locations are like, and who he expects might win the tournament.
Next, Ryan and Steve discuss the NHL Playoffs as Boston and St. Louis advance, and some of the controversy around the CHarlie McAvoy hit on Josh Anderson. Then, a massive story from the GOJHL Sutherland Cup Jr. B final, as Waterloo's best player Sam Cherry gets a controversial suspension, forcing him to miss game 7. Ryan goes off on the OHA, as he and Steve try to figure out what happened.
Finally, the guys are joined by former NHLer and mental health advocate Clint Malarchuk, who discusses Canadian Mental Health Awareness Week, his speaking engagements, and the message he tries to convey regarding the stigma around mental health and how it's no different than any other disease. Clint also mentions that help is available and there is no shame in asking for or seeking treatment.
