Outsourcing Hiring Branding Strategic Planning
When I was in the beginning stages of my second gym facility, I was hyper-focused on being efficient with my time and offloading administrative tasks. As I looked at ways to move into the CEO role and build a team, I was also looking for ways to delegate and offload jobs. My experience with outsourcing was a bumpy road. I learned about managing vendors and partners and how to get the best out of the relationship, as well as a return on my investment. Boy was that a road with some heartaches!
Aside from outsourcing, I really had to look at the way I was hiring employees. Going through growth spurts put the pressure on me in a way I didn't expect. I found myself disappointed with the results I was seeing my team produce and really couldn't understand why. Over time, I was able to step back and see the big picture. A light bulb went off! I made two very important realizations that ultimately produced the best team we've had to date. (Sidenote: It also saved our bank account!)
At the end of today's show, I go over the ramifications of not using your authentic voice in branding and managing customers, as well as the crashes that come from not having a long-term business plan. Spoiler: neither habit gets you to a happy place.
The twists and turns of building and owning a business are never ending. However, staying the course to reap the rewards are entirely worth it.
