My Brother is a Hipster

HELLLOOOO and welcome to an all new series, B-Sides! Mike is alone and taking a shallow dive into albums not suited for a My Brother is a Hipster season. OR maybe he just wants to talk about an album he really likes. OR maybe he's so lonely while he awaits the next season (that one).

Today we have to jump right into Mac DeMarco's 1 day, 4 album release!

Dog On The Rock, Seven Off The Two, Seaplane Dog, and The View from Tian Tan

Mr. DeMarco, up to his old tricks again. Just unleashing his entire hard drive on us, thank you Mac, let's talk about these albums!

Today we look at Terraform the Afterlife by Evil Island! Johnny, Cody, and Mark from The Blood Brothers are back and as post-hardcore as ever! Get ready for this cult classic (see what I did there? no? it is a concept band around an evil island death cult. Have you seen any of the videos online? Watch them! I can't baby you forever, you are going to have to meet me at least half way here. I am not giving you an attitude... What? I'm always so nice!....)

Today we talk about Mike's favorite band Dinosaur Jr. Not only do we talk about an underrated album that celebrates 10 years this week, but we also talk Dinosaur Jr. reunion run!

Meteors couldn't kill these Dinosaurs! Sorry...

Today we talk about a lesser known artist, Ducks Ltd. and Mike makes his pitch that they should be way more known!

Mike loves Ducks, and hopes it won't be limited (terrible topical closing statement)

Mike says like all the names wrong in this...

That Summer feeling is in the air! We are here at the end of season 3 for this finale episode reviewing I, Jonathan by Jonathan Richman!

WOW what a season, and what a way to end, with harmony! Then we get to the anticipated results how the  season long competition shakes out, you don't want to miss it. Then you don't want to miss Steven and David getting their payback on Mike (it sucks).

We're HOWLIN' FOREVER! In this one we review "Return to Cookie Mountain" by TV on the Radio. Debates are had, arguments emerge, hearts are broken. A never before heard rendition of "We Are Young" by Fun is performed for some ungodly reason and the final trivia of the season!

Well, we messed up. Audio files were broken and so were our spirits.

Yet we prevailed! kind of. This is not the original review, but that's okay because that was f*@#ing INSANE! This is still kind of insane because apparently Fugazi brings the worst out of all of us!

There's comfort at the bottom of this podcast! (topical episode description). We are reviewing The Front Bottoms S/T debut! Do you think Steven and David are going the love the anti-folk hipster anthems like Mike for some reason did!? No? You are not as obviously optimistic? That's good...

Trivia and games and such!

We head to the future for this one. The year is 3030 and the world is crazy! So much atmosphere, so much concept album, so much good English! Can you imagine a world, where Steve likes it kind of and David gets mad at Mike for his rating (being too low!?) Well strap in because we are reviewing Deltron 3030!
