My brother Tom and I had always been close. We did everything together. Growing up we were never apart. I couldn’t imagine my life without him. I never thought I would one day have to choose between saving his life or my girlfriend's.

We grew up in a small country town. There weren't many kids in our area. The local school only had 50 students. I think that's why my brother Tom and I spent all of our time together. We weren’t just brothers, we were best friends.
