In honour of Rabbi Jonathan Sacks' first yahrzeit (20 Cheshvan, 5782) I had the privilege to welcome to the Shmoozin' studio one of Rabbi Sacks' younger brothers, Alan Sacks, who kindly shared with us deeply personal and revealing insights from the life of this uniquely special, loving and globally influential Jewish leader.
Hearing from a close family member about Rabbi Sacks' childhood, upbringing, transformative experiences, private struggles, innermost drives and much more, we intimately discover the man behind the man and gain an even greater appreciation and admiration for what Rabbi Sacks contributed to the world. Emotively, we learn about how he spent his final challenging days isolated in hospital due to the covid pandemic, yet never missing an opportunity to give to the people caring for him wisdom and life lessons that will stay with them forever.
Make yourself a nice drink, find a comfortable place to sit and enjoy listening about one of the greatest Jews that has ever lived, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks ZT"L.
