When city pools remained closed to prevent integration, he opened the doors of Camp Kum-Ba-Yah to children of all backgrounds, becoming one of the first desegregated locations in the state.

Today, Camp Kum-Ba-Yah stands tall, upholding Bev's legacy of inclusivity, diversity, and access for every child.
