The independence of our nation is one way we declare that we want to govern ourselves and live and function independently to the rest of the world. Our independence from sin means we want to serve the One who set us free. And the service of God is not burdensome people like to weight their fellow man down with burdens, to attach a lot of different responsibilities, duties and things you got to do or don't do, just to be
a Christian. You can't do this or that, you can't eat or drink that, you can't go there, you must dress a certain way, you can't associate with those people over there and then we had the audacity to tell people if you don't serve God on a certain day then you're not a Christian, you can't water your lawn, you can't buy or sell on that day; just to make you serve God the way they think you should; that's hogwash! God never forces us to serve him that's why Jesus say I come to set the captive free and freely you have received freely give. I'm sure that people were giving freewill donations from their heart because Judas was the one carrying the money bag. But I don't remember once them taking up an offering during Jesus's 3-year ministry I don't remember an offering plate being passed around, think about that. And remember Jesus didn't have a place to lay his head & today we have many multi-millionaire preachers that say they're following Jesus. Hmm? Maybe they're independent from Jesus and Heaven, Freedom can be expensive. Hmm, but let's let God be the judge!
