No matter how independent I become, the expectations of how my parents, culture, and society want me to be is something I think will never leave me.  (Expensive therapy bills pending!). 

Today’s episode was difficult to record, and I felt very vulnerable sharing my story about how I struggle with balancing the perfect Desi daughter act with authentic Amma.  

I talk about my struggles with becoming a compulsive liar, feeling feral during my first taste of true freedom, and how picking a side is no longer an option.
