Hey there! 👋 I'm Jayd Harrison (Jaydigains), personal trainer and host of the Coaching Corner podcast. I'm officially kicking off a brand new 6-month series on The Coaching Corner — and this one is personal.
I'm going through my own Fat Loss Transformation Program, the same program I use with my personal training clients, and I'm bringing you along for every step of the journey. My goal isn't just to lose weight — it's to reduce my body fat percentage to around 22% while maintaining (and hopefully building on) the muscle I've put on over the last two years. I'm taking a slow, sustainable approach with a modest calorie deficit so I can prioritize fat loss without sacrificing the muscle I've worked hard for.
In this first episode, I walk you through the Starting Snapshot process — the foundation of the program. That means going through the full intake questionnaire, stepping on the smart scale (141 lbs, ~28% estimated body fat), taking all my body measurements, and doing the progress photos that everyone dreads but will absolutely be grateful for later. I also get real about where my nutrition currently stands: mostly pescatarian, probably undereating, definitely consuming too much hot-chocolate-coffee, and not tracking my food at all — yet. Week 1's assignment is to change that and get a true picture of my baseline calorie intake before making any adjustments.
