Bonfire Night 2023. My partner's cousin Sarah is visiting, and she asks me to do something I've never done before — a psychic reading outside the safety of my development circle. For someone I actually know. 😨
Cue panic.
What if everything I say is just stuff I already know? What if it's all in my head? What if I embarrass myself in front of family?
But then something shifts. A grandfather comes through — someone I've never met, know almost nothing about. Suddenly I'm describing a shot glass of brown liquid, children playing too close to a fireplace... and a very specific habit of tapping feet and balancing slippers on toes.
When I open my eyes, there are tears. "You couldn't have known that, Matt..."
