My Geek Confessions

My Geek Confessions #161 – 07/24/2015

Listen Later

Welcome to our episode for July 24, 2015!
It’s a very short week as we’re in the post SDCC lull but we’ve still got everything covered. We review Marvel’s Ant-Man, there are tons of trailers of some big blockbusters, Paul Rudd continues to troll Conan o’Brian in the best way possible, we have the first 6 minutes of Disney Channel’s Descendants and much more.
In Talk Nerdy to Me, a subtitled Attack on Titan movie trailer, Dinosaurs with high heels, and Sentai Filmworks dubbing DRAMAtical Murder.
It’s a video heavy episode, so we apologize in advance.

“My Geek Confessions – Watching Bad Movies, So You Don’t Have To!”

* It’s a big week for trailer with three big ones out. So here’s the trailers for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, James Bond in Spectre, and Pixar’s Good Dinosaur. Let us know which trailers you like best in the comments.

* Check out this great segment from The Late Late Show with James Corden, where James Corden recreates the the 1989 music video of “Opposites Attract” with Paula Abdul herself.

* The Disney Channel teased the first 6 minutes of Descendants with a magic tablets, modern settings, and bad lip syncing. We may end up live blogging watching this thing just because it sounds like it might end up Disney Channel’s Sharknado. Let us know if you think we should.

* Someone made a very excellent mashup between Star Wars and Mad Max: Fury Road that frankly would have made both movies better.

* We finally have a subtitled version of the live action Attack on Titan trailer, and it’s definitely worth a watch. If you thought Attack on Titan was creepy before, check out these live action titans.

* A little bit ago, we featured a clip of how Paul Rudd has featured the same clip from 1988’s Mac & Me on his every appearance on Conan o’Brian’s various shows. We worried with Ant-Man, he wouldn’t be allowed to continue the joke because of Disney and Marvel. How wrong we were. They even made it better. Make sure you give this one a watch.

* The folks over at XVP Comedy came up with the perfect rebuttal to Claire’s use of high heels in Jurassic World. They have come out with the Jurassic Park: High Heel edition, putting high heels ON EVERYTHING. There is some really great editing on this one and definitely hilarious!
