Welcome to our episode for September 11, 2015!
It’s a double episode as we return from AnimeFest 2015. Wes Craven and Dan Jones pass away, Borderlands may become a movie, we’ve all been saying Voldemort wrong, and Chris Evans may stay as Captain America. Then in TV news, Colbert returns to Late Night, trailers galore, and George RR Martin is a zombie.
In Talk Nerdy to Me, Dubsmash Wars are back, the dubcast of Durarara continues, Archie invades other comics, and Pokémon are coming to the real world.

“My Geek Confessions – Watching Bad Movies, So You Don’t Have To!”
* Stephen Colbert kicked off his tenure on CBS on the Late Show with a nationwide performance of the National Anthem including a stop in Fort Worth and a special appearance from Jon Stewart.
* While we were gone, the trailer for The Flash Season 2 premiered and they even since released a new extended trailer that you should check out.
* MTV finally dropped a trailer for their TV series adaptation of The Shannara Chronicles based off the Shannara series of books. Color us surprised when the trailer actually looks really good and makes us think that this may be a great adaptation. If they can keep up the quality shown in the trailer, I will be mightily impressed. The series is still misplaced but at least it looks like MTV is putting their budget behind it.
* Marvel and Netflix finally released a trailer for the new Jessica Jones Marvel series that looks a little strange but also said that the series would be ready for binge watching on November 20, 2015. Especially after how great Daredevil was, we’re definitely excited.
* When we originally heard about Miraculous Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, we thought it was a pseudo French anime a la “Totally Spies” but it appears that it is a dual production between Zag Entertainment in France and Toei Animation in Japan and together bringing it to Nickelodeon in December.
* What’s sure to be a huge hit on the internet once it hits, Nintendo has teamed up with Niantic (formerly under Google before it was restructured under Alphabet and makers of the augmented reality game Ingress) have teamed up together to create an augmented reality game for Pokémon, called Pokémon Go! that is scheduled to be released in 2016 on both iOS and Android devices. We’re sure this will definitely create some neat events at conventions and maybe be the new street pass but time will tell. In the meantime, watch the trailer for the game.
* Lastly, Screen Junkies has released their newest Honest Trailer. This time it’s for The Happening, which is a movie I absolutely hate and think no one should see. Only watch this Honest Trailer or a RiffTrax version and spare your sanity.
