My Geek Confessions #170 – 10/02/2015

Listen Later

Welcome to our episode for October 02, 2015!
This week we review The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, but otherwise it’s a slower week thanks to all the fall premieres happening. Matt Damon makes the late night rounds, Mark Wahlberg apologizes to the Pope, the Serial Podcast becomes a TV series, and Marvel gets a new TV addition in a Damage Control sitcom.
Then in Talk Nerdy to Me, Attack on Titan had an attack on subtitles, Manglobe goes bankrupt, and Magi gets a prequel with the Adventures of Sinbad.

“My Geek Confessions – Watching Bad Movies, So You Don’t Have To!”

* Even though FOX decided to break it into two halves, here is the full X Files Trailer for the new event series that premiered last week.

* Matt Damon has been making the rounds to the different talk shows to promote The Martian. First up, Matt Damon and James Corden team up to act out scenes from all of Matt Damon’s movies. Second, after 12 years Matt Damon tries to sneak onto Jimmy Kimmel as Dr. Phil (very poorly disguised) so he can finally become a guest on Jimmy Kimmel. It then shows that Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel have been going through couple’s therapy that hasn’t been that successful THEY BOUGHT A ZOO AND HE NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP!

* The Daily Show returned with Trevor Noah as the new host and had a great segment comparing Donald Trump to an African President (really dictators). It sadly is an uncanny comparison, especially when some of the quotes are almost too close for comfort.

* Netflix has released two very short trailers for the new Jessica Jones Marvel series that will be coming in the end of November. We still don’t know too much about her from these trailers other than Jessica Jones likes to drink and sleep in and destroy her alarm clock.

* Here’s the latest Honest Trailer from the guys at Screen Junkies put out the Honest Trailer for the Avengers: Age of Ultron just in time for its release on home video.

* DC and Warner Bros. have finally come out with their toy line for girls with the DC SuperHero Girls Super Hero High. It mostly features both heroes and villains redesigned to be in High School but even from the quick short we think it has some promise.
