My God

Listen Later

Name (Exodus 3:13-16; Revelation 1:8; 4:8): God’s name, Yahweh, comes from the verb “to be.” He is the one who was, who is, who is to come—the only being who does not depend on something else for existence.
Creation (Psalm 104): From grass to guinea pigs, lemons to lions, clouds to capillaries, He made it all! By looking at creation, we find inspiration to praise the Creator.
Egypt (Exodus 5:1-2; 9:13-16): The ten plagues demonstrate God’s power over nature as well as His superiority over all of the other so-called gods.
Covenant Keeper (Exodus 6:2-8; 12:40-41): When God makes promises, He keeps them. Since He does not suffer the effects of old age or die, He is the only one who can always make good on what He said He will do.
Holy Judge (Exodus 15:1-19; Isaiah 6:3): God is neither a pushover nor is He afraid to use His great power to avenge His beloved. However, He is holy, holy, holy and never loses control or misjudges a situation.
Lover (John 3:16; 1 John 4:8-19): Not only did He create the world out of love, but He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to die for our sins.
Our Response (Deuteronomy 6:4-5): Love Him with everything, including praising Him, obeying Him, and telling others about Him.
