1 Samuel 8:1-20 (pg. 429)

v.4 “So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel…Now appoint us a KING to lead us, such as ALL the OTHER NATIONS have.”

v.7 “And the Lord told Samuel: LISTEN to all the people are saying to you; it is not YOU they gave rejected, but rather they have rejected ME as their KING.”

Psalm 119:37-104 (pg. 961)

v.97 “Oh, how I LOVE your law! I MEDITATE on it all day long.”

v.98 “Your commands make me WISER than my enemies, for they are ever with me. I have more INSIGHT than ll my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more UNDERSTANDING than the elders, for I obey your PRECEPTS.”

v.101 “I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word. I have not departed from your laws, for YOU, Yourself have TAUGHT ME.”

v.104 “I gain UNDERSTANDING from your PRECEPTS; therefore I HATE every WRONG path.”

Three ways to discover the consequences of sin:

God wants YOU to see life, the way HE sees life.

God will use His word to REVEAL to you the TRUTH about YOURSELF.

Your Heavenly Father has INSIGHT into you that NOBODY else has.
