Will did his undergraduate degrees in mechatronics and computer science at the University of Melbourne, followed by a PhD in control engineering at Cambridge University. He worked in industry in Japan for a few years and then returned to academia. He is now a senior lecturer in robotics and mechatronics at UNSW Sydney. He teaches several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in robotics. His research focuses on underwater robotics and integrating reinforcement learning with mobile robotic systems.
