Colossians 1:15-21 . . . . Who is on the throne of your life? This passage in Colossians gives us seven reasons why Jesus should be the highest one we look up to.
1) He is the visible image of the invisible God. 2) He is the firstborn over all creation and therefore the highest in rank. 3) By him and for him were all things created. 4) He is before all things that exist. 5) Jesus is the head of the church and firstborn of the dead, resurrected so that he has preeminence. 6) Jesus is fully God…I AM. 7) Jesus reconciles all things in earth and heaven having made peace through his blood on the cross.
Jesus died to make us one with God and to help others reconcile with God and each other. He is all we need, firstborn, creator, and sustainer. What do you need to change in your life to truly make Jesus first in your life? Quoting Adrian Rogers, “Jesus is either Lord OF all or not Lord AT all.”
