  • You’re Allowed to Want Something Different

    Welcome to My Inner Mind.

If you’ve been here for a while, you may know this podcast as My Sister’s Closet. That isn’t going away. Instead, it’s becoming a piece of something bigger.

In this episode, Hallie officially introduces My Inner Mind and talks about why the podcast needed room to grow beyond relationships, dating, and the messy things we tend to tuck away.

My Inner Mind is about the thoughts we carry, the things we’re working through, the parts of ourselves we’re still figuring out, and the little moments that make us stop and think.

We’ll talk about loneliness, friendship, starting over, confidence, money, feeling stuck, changing your mind, learning how to be alone, letting people in, and all the completely ridiculous and very real things that happen in between.

Hallie also shares what she’s been building behind the scenes: the My Inner Mind app, community, Set It Down walks, events, and the bigger idea of creating a place where people can connect with each other instead of simply listening from the other side of a microphone.

And maybe the biggest question to take away from this episode is:

What have you outgrown that you haven’t admitted to yourself yet?

You’re allowed to change your mind about your life. You’re allowed to realize something isn’t working anymore. And you’re allowed to want something different.

Welcome to My Inner Mind. We’re just getting started.

  • What Sisterhood Actually Is

    Description:

Welcome back to The Other Side of Sisterhood, a My Sister’s Closet series. We have spent this whole series talking about what sisterhood is not. Today we flip it. What does real sisterhood actually look like?

This is the episode I have been building toward. I bring in real Reddit comments from people describing what healthy friendship actually feels like, back it up with research on co-regulation, vulnerability, and what psychologists call capitalization, and get honest about what it means to finally have the kind of sisterhood that feels like home.

Because here is the thing. Sisterhood is not just the absence of the bad stuff we talked about in this series. It is something you actually have to practice. It is safety. It is honesty rooted in love. It is accountability that goes both ways. And it is genuinely celebrating the people around you when they win.

This one is the payoff episode. I hope it lands for you the way it landed for me making it.

In this episode I cover: • What it actually feels like to be safe in a friendship • The research behind co-regulation and why real sisterhood calms your nervous system • Why how someone responds to your good news matters more than you think • What repair looks like when both people show up for it • The kind of sister I am still learning to be

  • What Failure Taught Me (And Why I’m Not Afraid of It Anymore)

Failure isn’t something we usually celebrate—but maybe we should.

In this episode, I’m sharing one of the most humbling moments of my life: planning an event that almost no one attended. At the time, I thought it meant I wasn’t capable. Looking back, I realize it became one of the experiences that taught me the most.

We talk about giving ourselves grace, learning from mistakes, overcoming the fear of trying again, and why success isn’t built without failure first.

If you’ve ever felt embarrassed, discouraged, or like you weren’t enough because something didn’t work out, this conversation is for you.

💜 I’d love to hear from you:

  • When Life Starts Making Sense Again

This one is short and sweet. I stopped by the closet to share something that felt too good not to say out loud. Things are starting to connect, my health, my vision, my creative direction, and it feels like I can finally see the roadmap. I also got into something that genuinely blew my mind from 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think about how we assume everyone sees the world the way we do, and how that is just simply not true. Come sit with me for a few minutes. It felt like a good day and I wanted to share it with you.

    **Show Notes:**

In this episode I talk about:

    • What it feels like when the dots finally start connecting
    • Health updates and feeling clearer mentally
    • How I visualize information in my mind like a connected map
    • The naive belief phenomenon from 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think
    • Why your perspective is never the only perspective

  • Slowing Down to Speed Up
This is episode marks six months of My Sister’s Closet, and I wanted to be honest with you about where I’m at. I’m talking about something called “giver burnout,” a term I came across on Reddit, and asking myself the hard question, am I actually living the intentional life I keep talking about, or just talking about it? I share why I’m stepping away from the podcast for the month of July, not because I’m done, but because I want to actually go live the things I’ve been teaching. I’ll be back in August with more, including the start of a brand new series, and a conversation that’s going to include the men in our lives too, because this was never just about sisterhood. It’s about all of us.
    Show Notes:
In this episode I talk about: • Six months of My Sister’s Closet and what I’ve learned • What “giver burnout” is and why I related to it • Asking myself if I actually practice what I preach • Measuring a good life by presence, not production • Why I’m taking a Christmas in July break for the month of July • What’s coming in August, including a series on what sisterhood is not and conversations that include the men in our lives
Taking July to rest, live, and process. Back in August. 💜
