2020 has seen the largest reverse migration from urban to rural locations in any year since the partition. Looking beyond the pandemic, the actions of over 1 crore people in India has sparked the single largest exodus from cities, anywhere in the world. The tsunami of the rural diaspora flooding back to the underprepared hinterlands dissected any plans that rural focussed NGO's, government departments and international aid agencies could possibly assemble for. Whilst the rural sector contains over 60% of the India's population and constitutes the world's largest community, it has been largely left ignored and underdeveloped by successive state and federal governments. Therefore the vast talent and resource potential of the entire sector remains unharnessed and left as a deliberate burden.
