Welcome to Stripcast, Episode One. My name is Lux ATL, although in a past life, most folks knew me as Dr. Lindsay Byron. I have been dancing in strip clubs since I was 18, but I am more than an accomplished exotic dancer. I am a wife, a mother, and a business owner. I have a PhD in English, and worked as a university instructor for years before abandoning the field entirely to pursue my passion for empowering women through sensual dance and mind-opening feminist talks. While I am now focused on my business as a motivational speaker and a pole dance instructor, the foundation of much of my knowledge comes from my many years spent in the trap house. I am a writer, a teacher, a punk rock philosopher, and a lifelong stripper--and I’d like to share my unusual story with you.

Today, I’m going to tell you about my last night ever stripping...

Here are a few truths and questions discovered during my final strip club shift:

Staying up all night and drinking can lose it’s appeal

Dancing for money under the critical eye of horny guys has it’s drawbacks

Chronic vomiting out of my car window at the end of my shift is never a good sign

Do I need to legitimize my work? To whom? For whom?

Is my post-baby body sexy—or shameful?

Why would anyone name their son Chad?

Am I done stripping—for real this time?
