My Love For Rhumba Made Me Come Up With Mukurugusology - Joseph Gathumbi
The interesting tales of Jose Katumbide alias Joseph Gathumbi Njoki, creator of Mukurugusology - Waregwo regeka hitmaker. Born in Limuru, went through his Primary School education in Kiambogo, Nakuru, then later joined high school in Gilgil.
He then came to Nairobi and immediately joined Kenya National Theatre for setbooks. It didn't work out for him so he went back home, and after a short period came back to Nairobi where he studied Tourism Management.
"I would occasionally disappear after lunch break during my internship to go listen to Congolese performers during their practice before shows. While at it someone approached me from Coro Fm to be a Congolese to Kikuyu translator and that's how I hosted my first show Afro-Musica which did really well."
He later went through a series of career changes before releasing his first song "mutu nyumba" in 2015, which was followed closely by "nindarega nie" and later "dikidiki" and "tikitiki" which were created in the same week.
