No matter how old you are, experiencing something traumatic changes you as a person. It changes your nervous system, the choices you make, the thoughts you have and really everything around you. My sophomore year of college, I experienced something traumatic that ultimately ended up with me taking the dark way out to cope. Telling my friends and family that I’m totally fine, getting involved in a toxic relationship along with frequent drinking and hard drug use. It took me a year and a half to finally ask for help and seek a therapist. Although I had a horrible experience, it helped me find hope for the first time in a long time.
Join me in this episode as I break down the last 6 years of my mental health journey and the choices I made to find peace with my mental health again.
