I didn’t know how young my parents were. I didn’t know how little they knew because they were so young. I didn’t know that they were winging it. I didn’t know that they didn’t have a plan or a treasure chest of facts and knowledge and certainty. I didn’t know that every day they woke up in a house with five kids all going in different directions.
