• Reign of Jotham in Judah (vv. 32–38): Jotham, son of Azariah, became king of Judah. He did what was right in God’s eyes but did not remove the high places. He built the Upper Gate of the Lord’s temple. In his days, the Lord began to send Rezin of Aram and Pekah of Israel against Judah.
