Part 18 in the series, "Belonging to Him". How do I relate to the Bible? Is it just a text book? A rule book? A book of stories? Is it just required reading to become a good person or go to heaven? Or is it, unlike any other book in the world, also the very essence of God-himself? If the Bible is truly the "word made flesh," if it is truly "living and active," then my approach to reading Scripture can go far beyond merely becoming wiser or becoming a better person. It can be a powerful means to relate to God as I would encounter any other person in the real world. The Word of God, as the essence of God, provides a way to encounter God intimately in personal relationship.
