Hi! My name’s Abraham and I’m sixteen years old. You might think that my name is quite old fashioned and there’s a reason for that. I’m Amish. I was born in a village in Pennsylvania to a loving mom named Hannah and a strict father named Isaac. I have ten other siblings and even though we lived a simple lifestyle, we were quite happy.

We didn’t have electricity, running water, or the internet. It was strictly prohibited for us to ride in cars, trains and buses so I had no idea what that was like. We couldn’t have cameras and photos were also forbidden – so we didn’t even have a family portrait. But we still had fun. After I finished my chores I usually met up with the other guys my age and we played baseball – this was our favorite sport and we were really good at it.
