Anna Willett is the author of 13 thrillers that all feature strong women in tricky, often life threatening situations.

Western Australia-based Anna doesn’t shy away from gritty plot lines and there’s a very personal reason for her exploration of the traumatic events that can happen to people.

In February 1983 Anna’s dear school friend, 14-year-old Sharon Mason vanished after she got off a bus in the Perth suburb of Mosman Park.

Nine years later, Sharon’s body was found buried behind a Mosman Park shop formerly owned by a man called Arthur Greer, by a bobcat operator carrying out earthworks. Greer was later convicted of Sharon’s murder.

Anna tells Crime Fiction Friday about the impact Sharon’s murder had on her personally and how crime has a ripple effect that spreads far and wide.
