Now, this word, “sabbatical” comes from the Hebrew words, “Shabbat,” which means “ceasing”.

  • But as appealing as it might sound to just “cease” for six weeks, nobody thought that would be easy for me!
  • Unless, I was to just get away somewhere, there would inevitably be many distractions.
  • You see, we all have plans. But to a people whose plans didn’t turn out anywhere near the way they expected,

    • God offers these words in Jeremiah: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a ‘”
    • Of course, these are great words that can offer a lot of encouragement when some grief or challenge intrudes into your life… & interferes with your plans.
