Language can make you feel at home. Consider what it says about God that God wants everyone to feel at home in God. The very act of the Word becoming flesh is an act of inclusion. God has no desire to leave God’s children outside. In God we find wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. There are thoughts, expressions, and ways of being that can only be best communicated through the mother tongue. Why should we have to speak about the goodness of God as an outsider?
