Hi everyone! Thank you for tuning in to Time for English.
My toilet got clogged. But the silver lining was that the clogging happened while I was cleaning the toilet, not right after using it. It could have been a lot worse, you know.
Anyhow, are you familiar with the word "clog"? When something is clogged, it's blocked or stopped up. When your toilet is clogged, what will happen?
After using the toilet, you push down that little handle attached to the water tank. Then the water rushes out of the tank, swirls around the toilet bowl and down the drain. That's what happens when your toilet is working properly. When it's not, the water starts rising to the top of the bowl, and in the worst case scenario, overflows.
Well. When your toilet is working properly, you take it for granted. I did until that happened to me. But you shouldn't because it can go wrong any time.
In the meantime, I'll give you an example sentence, so let's say it together. Please repeat after me.
The toilet got clogged.
