In this episode I chat with Heather Condren, a florist and former social care worker who started Flowerpop after she won a scholarship from Kay's Flower School in Dublin. She lives and works in Inchicore in Dublin with her husband and two-year-old son.

In the absolute shit storm that is COVID there have been some bright bits and Heathers is one of them. A pandemic will force reassessment of a lot of things and Heather found her love of flowers led her to a brand new florist business that is taking Dublin by storm.

She tells us all about her journey, her fears, imposter syndrome and how she managed to push through all of it to create Flowerpop.

I simply adore Heathers strength and love of what she does and I eagerly await Flowerpop delivery to Cork!

In this episode I chat with Blessing Dada. Blessing is a student in Youth & Community Development at Technological University Dublin. She is an outspoken, passionate activist on all sorts of social justice issues, especially mental health awareness (with her own lived experiences) among Black and other ethnic minority communities in Ireland.

She is also involved in organisations such as SpunOut and See Change.

I enjoyed our conversation so much. As a young Black Irish/Nigerian woman, her lived experiences are vital to understanding the lack of supports for people of colour here in Ireland in the world of mental health. As a therapist, I learned a lot during our chat about inclusivity and the importance of stepping outside my own privilege.

In this episode I chat with Eimear Morrissey, actor, voiceover artist and facilitator - working with young people through theatre/drama. Emer is best known for her role as Tracey Rooney in the RTE2 comedy drama Damo & Ivor, and also the movie.

Eimear shares with us how COVID19 is effecting the Arts world, how it is impacting her work and how artists are creating art in new and exciting ways in isolation.

She lovingly remembers her Grandmother who sadly passed away at the beginning of the lockdown and what loving and losing her has taught her.

Personally I had a few "lightbulb" moments during our chat as Eimear talks with such a sense of self awareness and kindness that she gave me pause for thought.

We chatted about being single in isolation and I crushed her hope of meeting someone anytime soon. Sorry, girl! We laughed a lot!

I always try to keep my podcasts to 45 mins. This one is a full hour long but I promise you it is worth it. I could have stayed chatting with Eimear for hours.

Hello! Welcome to my first at home, isolation podcast! Nobody is more surprised than I, that this is happening. I tried to wait it out so I could start season 2 at Republic of Works with Jay, but it was too hard and I missed doing this so much, so here we are!

It's just me today chatting about how life is now and what is getting me through each day. The sound is a work in progress but we will figure it out as we go.

The joy of doing it at home means weekly episodes. Yay!
