While some areas miraculously avoided fatalities, others saw tragic losses—including nine children killed in a monastery school. Hospitals are overwhelmed, with hundreds of patients treated outdoors due to unsafe buildings and extreme heat. Aftershocks complicate recovery efforts, forcing medical staff to prioritise makeshift care. Local volunteers distribute limited supplies amid chaotic scenes, but long-term needs outstrip capacity.
