On June 18, 2025, she was last seen leaving her rented room around 5:30 PM, but never returned. After days of desperate searching by her parents and friends, her dead body was recovered on June 23, 2025, from a secluded area near Burari, Delhi. The circumstances of her death have shocked the nation.

The Delhi Police, along with Assam Police, launched a joint investigation into the case. Early suspects were questioned, and her call records from June 18 were analyzed.
