In this episode I summarize and comment upon an article in the New York Times (Feb. 9, 2020) entitled, “In Corner Of The Met, A Violent Painting May Hide A Painful Past” by Graham Bowley. The article outlines the very controversial history of a 17th century painting depicting a man being very aggressive against a woman. Was the painting truly stolen by a German from a Jew? Is the museum in possession of stolen property? Why was this painting retitled? I discuss the timeline of events and several details. (Please be aware that I made an error. The Aram home/estate was sold again in 1938 for 195,000 Reichsmarks and not 195 Reichsmarks as I mistakenly stated.)
