In 1967, a three-year-old horse named Snippy was found stripped to the bone with no blood, no tracks, and no explanation, kicking off decades of unexplained livestock mutilations across the American West. By the 1970s, ranchers in Eastern Oregon were finding cows in similar manners: reproductive organs removed, tongues gone, no blood at the scene, and scavengers mysteriously avoiding the bodies.

In this episode we dig into the history of cattle mutilation reports, the FBI investigation that went nowhere, and the modern-day cases from 2019–2022 that reignited the mystery and became the subject of an Unsolved Mysteries episode.
