We hear from Pastor Beverly as she continues her series on Psalms and Proverbs. This morning she preaches from Psalm 44 in a sermon titled "Mystery." This psalm is a prayer of the community (a communal lament, per PFAS). God’s current action of permitting defeat does not coincide with his past faithfulness. The faith contained in the prayer invites an understanding of suffering as a service to the kingdom of God.
