Nabeel Mohamed, Privacy preserving attribute based group key management

Group key management (GKM) is a fundamental building block in any secure group communication applications. In fact, successful management of group keys is critical to the security of any cryptosystem. In this talk, I will first give an overview of the traditional GKM approaches and their limitations to support current technological trends and large dynamic systems. Then I will present a new approach to GKM that is expressive and privacy preserving. The talk is based on our work appeared in ICDE 2010, CCS 2011 and CollaborateCom 2011. About the speaker: Nabeel Mohamed is a PhD candidate at the department of computerscience, Purdue university. He is also a member of CERIAS, PurdueUniversity, IEEE and ACM. His research interests are in data privacy,distributed system security and applied cryptography. His research adviser is prof. Elisa Bertino. He has published in the areas of privacy preserving content disseminationand group key management.
